No Chlorine Shortage at Purify

We have come across several articles recently that mention an impending chlorine shortage during this upcoming summer season. We’d like to address any concerns that Purify’s customers may have regarding chlorine supply this summer.

Chlorine comes in a few different forms. Due to a chemical plant fire last year, there is currently a nationwide supply shortage of trichlor — a tablet form of chlorine primarily used in residential applications. This trichlor shortage is expected to extend for at least many more months, perhaps even into 2022.

However, Purify’s customers will not be impacted by the trichlor shortage. Purify’s chlorine product is bleach (i.e. sodium hypochlorite). Our supply of bleach and other chemicals is supported by a strong supplier network, stored in Purify-owned chemical storage facilities, and distributed by Purify’s exclusive tanker fleet. As such, we expect no interruptions or delays to our usual service in the coming months.

Purify customers will enjoy consistent and timely chemical deliveries this summer, just like any other summer!

Sincerely,

Purify Team

Update for Purify’s Customers and Community

Hi Everyone,

We are aware that shelter in place orders have been issued in several of our service areas in the latest effort to contain the spread of COVID-19.

As an essential business, Purify is continuing all operations. There are no interruptions to our services at this time. We are committed to continuing to serve our community, and we are also doing what we can to protect our team.

Purify would like to ensure that we are minimizing unnecessary exposure wherever possible, and we respectfully ask everyone to follow the simple precautions below:

  • Make sure that Purify vehicles and team members are able to enter your property. Ensure that keys are placed in the lock box provided on your property, or that the gate is open when we need to enter.
  • If possible, please do not approach our team members while they are on property. If any communication is needed before, during, or after our visit, please call us or message us through our website.
  • Contact us when you have 3-4 days of chemicals remaining for deliveries that are not automated via our tank sensors. Help us reduce the number of emergency deliveries by giving us enough notice before you run out of chemicals.

Chemical deliveries and technician visits can be handled by our staff without assistance, as long as we have access. Please reach out to us if access to your chemical storage areas has changed or will change. Remember that social distancing protects not only yourself, but also the people around you. We ask all our customers to please be mindful of physical interactions with our staff.
If you have any questions or concerns, our customer service team is here to assist.

Water Transmission and COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Rev. March 17th, 2020

Amid the growing concerns surrounding the spread and transmission of COVID-19 (or Coronavirus), Purify would like to address this issue in relation to water treatment and drinking water.

According to the CDC, drinking water treated through conventional water treatment methods should be free of COVID-19.

“The COVID-19 virus has not been detected in drinking water. Conventional water treatment methods that use filtration and disinfection, such as those in most municipal drinking water systems, should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19.”

Read the full CDC statement here.

As of this moment, Purify remains open during regular operating hours, and there will be no disruption in our services to our customers. We will keep you updated in case anything changes.

Stay healthy and safe, and ensure that you have enough water treatment chemicals on hand at all times!
